Engineered and fabricated right here in Australia, the Radius Fabrications 80 Series Pod Filter Airbox is designed to dramatically improve airflow, filtration performance, and engine longevity in harsh Australian conditions.

Built specifically for the Toyota 80 Series LandCruiser with the 1HZ diesel engine, this airbox is a direct factory replacement and uses an unrestricted 4" outlet for maximum flow. With every unit TIG welded by Aussie certified tradesmen and finished in a durable satin black powder coat, this airbox is made to last for decades of touring, towing, and off-road punishment.

The included clear polycarbonate lid (etched with the Radius logo) allows quick visual inspection of the filter and internal chamber perfect for monitoring dust ingestion on long trips. The Aeroflow 4" pod filter delivers high-flow, high-efficiency filtration to protect your engine.

Whether you’re running the factory setup or pairing it with a Radius snorkel, this airbox is built to handle tough conditions and keep your 1HZ breathing clean, cool air.

Airbox Location: Designed to bolt into the factory position. In some cases, brackets may pick up different mounting holes depending on vehicle variations.

Fitment Information

• Suits Toyota 80 Series LandCruiser 1HZ & 1HD-T diesel engines
• Compatible with factory radiators, aftermarket turbochargers, and intercoolers (photos may be required)
• Compatible with both petrol and diesel snorkel mounting, but airbox itself is for diesel only
• Airbox ports: 4" inlet and 4" outlet
• Designed for guard-entry snorkels only  no bonnet-entry snorkels supplied
• Works with dual battery setups in most cases (check layout to avoid obstruction)

Note:
• Piping from the airbox to the intake is not supplied.
• Designed specifically for diesel models (1HZ, 1HD-T).
• Not designed for petrol engines unless modified by the customer. 

Installation

• Typical installation time: 1–2 hours for airbox 
• Bolts into factory location using supplied brackets
• Snorkel attaches to A-pillar using nutserts, bracket & bolts (included with snorkel)
• Ensure crankcase breather is connected to your piping kit, not the airbox
• If running aftermarket turbo or intercooler, provide photos so we can confirm clearance
• Always perform a dust check after initial installation

Does the short-entry snorkel suit the factory airbox?
Yes our short entry snorkel suits both the factory airbox and Radius Fab airbox (piping supplied).

What is the difference between the base airboxes?
The port position differs. We supply either centre-port or offset-port depending on the snorkel you’re installing.

Does the snorkel suit both 1HZ and 1HD-T engines?
Yes – our 80 Series snorkel suits both engines.

Does the airbox suit the 1FZ-FE petrol engine?
Our airboxes are built for diesel. Petrol fitment may be possible but requires customer modification.

Will increased airflow affect mass airflow sensors?
These kits have been dyno tested with no MAF issues or code faults.

Are throttle controllers compatible?
Yes they can be used with our snorkel and airbox.

Do the snorkel and airbox work with aftermarket turbo kits?
Yes, many customers run aftermarket turbos. Ensure airflow sizing matches the turbo’s requirements.

Are they compatible with aftermarket exhausts?
Generally yes, airflow balance must be maintained for optimal performance.

Do they work with aftermarket intercoolers?
Yes, but photos are required to confirm suitability.

Any concerns with aftermarket radiators?
Generally no. Ensure the snorkel/airbox does not obstruct radiator airflow. Send photos if unsure.

Where does the crankcase breather connect?
Radius recommends connecting it to your piping kit, not our airbox (we use paper filters).

Will a dual battery setup cause issues?
Typically no layout planning ensures everything clears correctly.

What are the port sizes?
Both inlet and outlet are 4 inches.

Do you still make the 1997 80 Series 1FZ-FE airbox?
Our 80 Series airbox will physically fit, but we have not test-fit on a petrol model ourselves.
