Every Ram 1500 modifier in Australia lays out the engine bay slightly differently, which can affect airbox fitment. To ensure the best possible result, please include in your order notes which company completed your vehicle’s conversion and compliance before we begin fabrication. While we aim to make every airbox a direct factory replacement, variations between conversion companies can alter mounting locations and guard entry points.

Due to the unique nature of Australian Ram conversions, each airbox is made to order. We recommend pairing it with our matching Radius Fabrications Ram 1500 DT snorkel for the best performance and fit.

Installation

The Radius Fabrications Ram 1500 DT Airbox is designed for straightforward installation using the factory mounting location where possible. Due to variations in conversion layouts, minor adjustments to brackets or mounting points may be required.

Installation should be carried out by a qualified professional to ensure correct alignment and sealing, especially when paired with a matching snorkel.

If you are fitting the kit yourself:

1. Remove the factory airbox and plastic ducting completely.

2. Check for adequate clearance between the new airbox and surrounding components.

3. Fit the Radius Fabrications airbox using the provided brackets and hardware.

4. Connect all OEM sensors (MAF or AIT) to their designated ports.
   

5. If installing with a snorkel, confirm the guard entry and snorkel connection before tightening all fittings.

6. Start the vehicle and inspect for any leaks or air gaps to ensure proper sealing.

Typical install time: approximately 2–3 hours (airbox only).

Does the vehicle need to be tuned after installation?
No. The Radius Fabrications Ram DT airbox is designed to improve airflow without compromising the factory ECU, so a tune is not required.

What filter does the airbox use and where can I get it?
The airbox uses the Aeroflow AF2711-0870 filter, which is supplied with the kit. Replacement filters are available from most major automotive stockists.

Is this compatible with vehicles that have a supercharger?
No. The kit will not fit vehicles equipped with a supercharger.

What engines does this airbox suit?
It supports a range of petrol engines including the HEMI V8. For diesel or other configurations, please confirm fitment prior to ordering.

Does the airbox use the factory MAF sensor?
Yes. It supports OEM Mass Air Flow (MAF) and Air Intake Temperature (AIT) sensors, ensuring compatibility with factory electronics.

Will it fit with aftermarket turbos or custom intercooler piping?
Fitment may vary depending on modifications. Please send photos of your setup before ordering so we can confirm compatibility.

Does it include a drainage system for water crossings?
Yes. The airbox includes a drainage port at its lowest point to allow minimal amounts of water or dust to freely release. For frequent water crossings, we recommend adding a pre-filter.

Do I need to remove the plastic ducting from the old airbox?
Yes. The factory plastic ducting must be removed for correct fitment of the Radius Fabrications airbox.

Are these kits suitable for diesel models?
No. Currently, we only fabricate airbox and snorkel kits for petrol models.
