This is a complete intake upgrade, combining a driver side mirror mounted snorkel with a purpose built airbox, designed and fabricated in house to suit the LTZ and ZR2 variants of the Silverado 1500.
Why the Silverado 1500 Benefits From an Intake Upgrade
Late model American utes like the Silverado are well built for general use, but the factory intake position was never designed with serious dust or water exposure in mind. A low mounted intake draws in hot air from the engine bay and sits closer to dust kicked up from the front wheels. Over time, that means more frequent filter changes and added strain on engine components that work harder to draw air through a compromised intake path.
Relocating the intake higher and giving it a properly designed airbox addresses both problems at once. Cleaner, cooler air improves how the engine breathes, and a sealed airbox keeps contaminants away from the filter for longer between services. For a Silverado used for towing, touring, or genuine four wheel driving, this is a practical and worthwhile upgrade.
Drivers Side Mirror Mounted Snorkel
The Silverado snorkel is fitted to the driver side in a mirror mounted position, built from 5 inch 304 grade stainless steel. We chose this grade of stainless for the same reason we use it across our snorkel range. It holds up to UV exposure, road grime, and moisture without relying on a surface coating that can eventually wear through and allow corrosion to take hold.
The snorkel steps down from the full 5 inch diameter at the guard to match the airbox port for the best possible fitment. This detail matters. A snorkel that maintains an oversized diameter all the way to the airbox can create fitment and sealing issues, so the step down is engineered specifically to suit the airbox it pairs with.
It is worth noting that this snorkel does not include piping and does not connect to anything beyond the guard itself. It is supplied as the snorkel component only, without a hook up to the airbox or any other system.
Finish Options
The snorkel is available in two finishes to suit different build preferences. Polished stainless gives a clean, premium look that highlights the quality of the material itself. Satin black powder coat offers a more understated finish that blends into darker coloured builds or simply suits a less attention grabbing aesthetic.

The Airbox Component
The airbox supplied as part of this kit is CNC cut from aluminium and fitted with an acrylic lid, giving you a clear view of the filter without needing to remove any covers for a quick visual check. It comes fitted with an Aeroflow AF2711-0870 filter, which is included in the kit and can be replaced through most automotive stockists once it reaches the end of its service life.
The kit also includes a washer bottle, which makes this a more complete solution for owners looking to address the full front end intake setup rather than piecing together separate components from multiple suppliers.
What's in the Kit
Every kit includes the 5 inch stainless steel driver side snorkel, a CAD designed fitting template to guide the guard cut, mounting brackets, and detailed installation instructions. The fitting template in particular makes the installation process considerably more straightforward, giving installers a precise guide rather than relying on guesswork for the guard modification.
Fitment Notes
This kit is built to suit the LTZ and ZR2 models of the Silverado 1500. It is not currently fabricated for the 2500 or 3500 Silverado models, and the kit is not compatible with supercharged vehicles, as the design is based around the standard factory setup.
Installation takes approximately five to six hours, and we recommend professional installation given the precision required for a clean result. We can provide a list of experienced installers across Australia if you need a referral in your area.
