This is a purpose-built snorkel for passenger side conversion setups, designed to work specifically with the Radius 5 inch passenger side pod airbox and the demands of a converted GU engine bay.
Who This Snorkel Is Designed For
This snorkel is not a general-purpose GU Patrol intake upgrade. It is built specifically for GU Patrols running engine conversions on the passenger side, including LS engine swaps, 6BT Cummins conversions, and other custom builds where the intake has moved away from its factory position.
If you're running a standard factory GU engine in its original configuration, this is not the right snorkel for your setup. The passenger side long entry design is engineered around conversion engine bay layouts, and it will not fit the factory airbox or integrate with Safari snorkel templates. The airbox compatibility is also specific: this snorkel is designed to work only with the Radius Fabrications 5 inch passenger side pod airbox. Running it with any other airbox is not something we can support.

316 Grade Stainless Steel Construction
The 5 inch passenger side GU snorkel is fabricated from 316 grade stainless steel, which offers superior corrosion resistance compared to standard 304 grade. The higher molybdenum content in 316 grade makes it more resistant to chloride exposure and moisture ingress over time, which is a meaningful advantage for a component permanently mounted to the exterior of a vehicle that sees water crossings, coastal conditions, or sustained outdoor exposure.
Every snorkel is precision built and TIG welded in-house at our Capalaba, Queensland workshop. Each unit is jigged to exacting standards, which keeps dimensional accuracy consistent across every build and ensures the snorkel sits correctly against the GU guard without requiring adjustment or persuasion during installation.
Why 5 Inch Diameter Matters on a Conversion Build
The step up from the standard 4 inch snorkel diameter to 5 inches is not cosmetic. On a conversion engine, particularly an LS or a 6BT Cummins, the airflow requirements are significantly different from the original GU engine configuration. These engines breathe at higher volumes, and a 4 inch intake path can become a restriction point that limits how well the engine performs under load.
A 5 inch diameter snorkel provides a larger, less restricted flow path from the intake head above the roofline down into the engine bay. Combined with a matched 5 inch pod airbox, the entire intake system from the point of air entry to the engine is sized to support the demands of the conversion rather than working against it.
Finish Options
The snorkel is available in polished stainless, powder coated black, seamless polished, and seamless powder coated finishes. Polished stainless shows the quality of the 316 grade material and suits builds where the finish is as much a statement as the fabrication itself. Powder coated black brings a lower-profile result that suits builds where the snorkel is meant to integrate into the vehicle rather than stand out against it.
As with the rest of our snorkel range, the standard finish includes a small but visible TIG weld join at each bend. This is normal for fabricated snorkels and is not a defect. If a fully seamless external finish is required for your build, select the seamless option when ordering.
What's in the Kit
Every kit includes the 5 inch passenger side snorkel, a cutting template to guide the guard modification, an edge protector trim, a full mounting hardware pack including bolts, nuts, washers, and piping, and a detailed installation instruction sheet.
Piping between the snorkel and the airbox is not included with the snorkel itself. It is supplied as part of the matching Radius 5 inch passenger side pod airbox kit. If you're purchasing the snorkel and airbox together, everything required to connect the two components comes with the airbox kit.
Fabricated to Order in Capalaba
Every snorkel we produce is fabricated to order at our workshop in Capalaba, Queensland. Because each unit goes through our full jigging, fabrication, and TIG welding process before dispatch, there are lead times associated with this product. Current wait times are listed at the top of the website and updated as our production schedule changes.
All selections, including finish and airbox configuration, should be confirmed carefully before ordering. We operate under a no change of mind policy in line with the custom made nature of our products, and replacement shipping for incorrect orders is payable by the customer.
